Newport After School Time
Quality Afterschool Programming - fun for kids; peace of mind for parents
|
Newport Out-of-School Time (NOST) provides quality afterschool programming at Richards, Towle, and the Newport Middle School five days a week with transportation home upon request. Students do their homework in a supported environment staffed with a certified teacher, eat a snack, and participate in physical activities and enrichment clubs designed to reinforce the students’ academic work in a fun way. Enrichment clubs are based on student-interests and anchored to community resources. Community volunteers and service providers push-in to the program, linking young people with the Newport community and the Newport community with its youth.
NOST also offers all-day vacation programming during school breaks and throughout the summer.
NOST is a collaborative effort between the Newport School District, Cinnamon Street, and the NET Teen Center. NOST is funded through a grant from the New Hampshire Department of Education 21st Century Community Learning Center Project, parent fees, NH State Childcare Scholarships, and community support.
Elementary programming at Richards and Towle is fully licensed by the New Hampshire Bureau of Childcare Licensing
